The original idea for a library came from forms completed by the congregation some time ago and this particular idea was passed to the Ministry Development Team of which they approved. Gladys Ramsay and Sandra Wood were approached and agreed to be the co-ordinators.
The funding for the purchase of new books for the library was from:-
1) £150 from the Parochial Church Council
2) £250 from the proceeds of Eileen Bishop's Band Concert
These monies purchased 40 new books and we had a welcome donation of many books from Geoff Hodgkiss.
At the present time we have in excess of over a hundred books, the titles of which relate to many aspects of our lives, spiritual, biblical, care, prayer, biographies and novels.
We have a limited amount of children's reading but will remedy this as more donations become available and contact has been made with the leaders of the Sunday School as to what books would be appropriate for the younger members of the congregation.
If there is a book which you think would specially benefit the library please let us know; we would also value your opinions on any book you have read from the library.
A book will be at hand to record borrowing and returning dates &c.
The Vestry has been designated as a peaceful library site; as soon as the book case is able to be installed the library will be available whenever the Church is open.
